Votes for Women!

A highlight of The Civic Circle’s summer was opening the Montgomery County Commission for Women’s Suffrage 2020 Commemoration with our original song, “Votes for Women!”

The song celebrates certain untold aspects of the women’s suffrage story, including the way in which Iroquois women who ran their own tribes inspired such early suffragists as Lucretia Mott. It was an honor to have the song debut at the commission’s commemoration, which took place on August 20 and was viewed by 377 people.

Lea Morris did a masterful job performing the song, and created a wonderful music video to go with it. Watch “Votes for Women!” here!
