The Civic Circle is recruiting an Americorps VISTA member to help us expand and institutionalize our arts-based civic learning program for students age 8-13. Come help us empower youth through civic skills like news literacy and voting, and foster civic readiness through education and the arts. The VISTA will help evaluate and expand this program, and help make it sustainable. This is a chance to make a valuable social impact while gaining skills in curriculum and program development, marketing, evaluation and nonprofit governance.  This is a paid position with full benefits and professional development opportunities. Do you have a civic poem, song or reading to share? The Civic Circle invites you to lift your voice, and creatively exercise your civic power. We are organizing a Youth Civic Saturday that will feature youth poets, youth performers, a youth moderator, and youth tech volunteers.

Please contact for information on how to participate in Youth Civic Saturday, which will take place in the Spring of 2021. Civic Saturdays originated with Seattle-based Citizen University, and seek to build community and inspire civic action with gatherings that feature music, poetry, civic readings and remarks that explore our shared values and identities as Americans.

The Civic Circle seeks teaching artists to perform our democracy songs in virtual children’s shows, and help lead after-school songwriting workshops for students age 8-13. The ideal candidate will be a singer and songwriter/instrumentalist with a commitment to and experience working with youth. Opportunities to perform live, teach, and gain broad exposure through our educational music videos.
