The Civic Circle seeks teachers interested in civic learning to lead one or more after-school workshops with students in Grades 3-5 in Spring, 2022. These are fun, paid positions ideal for part-time or student teachers. Teachers will lead weekly, after-school sessions on the topic of democracy, service-learning and civic skills, using Civic Circle lesson plans that emphasize music, the arts, and performance-based learning. A brief virtual orientation will precede the workshops, which last 60 minutes and take place once a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, either from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the class being taught. The Civic Circle seeks teaching artists to help bring our democracy curriculum alive in arts-based after-school workshops for students age 8-13. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to working with youth, experience using the arts to explore humanities materials, and be a teaching artist in one of the following areas: Singing and songwriting, instrumental music, poetry, theater, spoken word/storytelling, or visual arts. Opportunities to gain broad exposure through our democracy concerts and community civic events. For more information, please contact:

The Civic Circle seeks a board member to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for civic life and who shares our mission to use music and the arts to empower young students to understand and participate in democracy. This is a chance to join a lively board that includes educators, performing artists, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders. We are committed to building an inclusive board that reflects the full diversity of Montgomery County, and we encourage individuals of all backgrounds and ages to apply. Please contact
