New Beginnings

The Civic Circle is gearing up for a busy fall schedule that includes continued collaboration with Montgomery Housing Partnership, a new democracy program at Gaithersburg Elementary School with Carpe Diem Arts, and after-school workshops through Montgomery County’s Excel Beyond the Bell program. The Civic Circle is honored and excited to be among more than a dozen nonprofits in the region to receive grant support from the Greater Washington Community Foundation. This grant comes through the Children’s Opportunity Fund, which recently announced its launch as an independent nonprofit, and will enable us to hire a program manager so we can serve more students in Eastern Montgomery County. Happiness is Hamilton Camp

The Civic Circle’s Hamilton Camp with Carpe Diem Arts was a heartwarming success, thanks to an extremely special group of campers who threw themselves into Hamilton singalongs and crafts, songwriting and ukulele lessons. Campers even created an illustrated a “Revolutionary War Timeline,” proving again that yes, you can get elementary schoolers excited about American history.
