The Civic Circle was honored to perform on September 25 at a show organized by Jack and Jill of America, Inc., which describes itself as the “premier African American family organization of mother members nurturing future Black leaders ages 2-19 while advocating for all children.” That is a mission we can get behind! The Civic Circle launched its fall after-school workshops in September with classroom concerts by the wonderful Nick Newlin and Munit Mesfin. Munit Mesfin The Civic Circle is excited to be joining the D.C. Public Library’s Civic Engagement Summer School with a special presentation by Teaching Artist and award-winning singer-songwriter Munit Mesfin. Munit will lead a collective songwriting workshop with youth and adults of all ages, with a special focus on songs of social justice and female empowerment. The Civic Circle was thrilled to bring a summer concert of patriotic songs to more than 80 elementary school students at the Horizons Greater Washington Summer Program on July 16th.
