GivingTuesday is tomorrow, and the need for civic learning is greater today than it was even a year ago.
Disinformation and misinformation threaten public health, voting rights, textbook accuracy and even the safety of some school board members.
The good news is that Americans on both sides of the political aisle overwhelmingly agree that civic education is the most meaningful way to strengthen American identity. Bipartisan coalitions in Maryland and nationwide are working together to advance Civic education, and The Civic Circle is gratified to be part of this movement.
Our own programs are expanding, with new Civic Clubs, performances and educational videos and curriculum materials in the pipeline. It’s an exciting and pivotal moment, but we can’t move ahead with this work to strengthen democracy and students’ civic skills without your help.
Your contribution to The Civic Circle this giving season will enable us to expand our team of teachers and teaching artists, reach more schools in 2022, and scale our program so that teachers everywhere can empower young students to understand and participate in democracy.
