The Civic Circle is extremely grateful to the amazing young people who made Youth Civic Saturday such a success! And thanks to the No Boundaries Youth Organizers for co-hosting. A shout-out also goes out to Citizen University for creating Civic Saturdays, and for the fellowship opportunity that made this one happen.
Our topic was "You Have the Power," and we had stirring original poetry from Isaiah (Zay) Young and Daniella (DD) Gonyoe, uplifting songs sung by Gabriella Gonyoe, a powerful civic reading shared by Dorothy Nathan, and inspiring civic remarks from Kofi McDowell and Maahe Kunvar. Big thanks to Shaleece Williams at No Boundaries for all the work to help make this happen.
And congratulations to these extraordinary youth, who are making an impact despite for the most part not even being old enough to vote. As I noted in my remarks, we should all take a page out of their book. Here is the youth team getting ready to start.
