IT’S BEEN A CHALLENGING YEAR for Americans who believe in democracy, tolerance, truth, justice and compassion. But when democracy is tested, it’s an opportunity to reaffirm the values that unite us as Americans.
At The Civic Circle, we return again and again to the seven “steps to democracy” at the heart of our program: peace and bridge-building (Listen!), truth and facts (Learn!), voting (Choose!), helping others (Join!), and making the world a better place (Speak, Act and Lead!).
On GivingTuesday tomorrow, we hope you’ll join our “Freedom Grows Here” campaign so more students can build civic skills, lift their voices, and play a role in public life. When our students create civic songs, poems and art pieces and share them with peers, parents and community members, their confidence soars. Students leave our programs more excited out helping others, more enthusiastic about participating in school and community, and better equipped to be tomorrow’s voters, volunteers and community leaders.
