The Civic Circle launched its fall after-school workshops in September with classroom concerts by the wonderful Nick Newlin and Munit Mesfin. The Civic Circle is thrilled to welcome Trevor Schmutz as our first full-time team member. Trevor is a graduate student in public policy at George Washington University, and joins us as an AmeriCorps VISTA team member thanks to the sponsorship of Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic. Munit Mesfin The Civic Circle is excited to be joining the D.C. Public Library’s Civic Engagement Summer School with a special presentation by Teaching Artist and award-winning singer-songwriter Munit Mesfin. Munit will lead a collective songwriting workshop with youth and adults of all ages, with a special focus on songs of social justice and female empowerment. Participants should be able to walk away singing a song that they have written about an issue that matters
