EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING for The Civic Circle’s “Art of Democracy” seventh anniversary celebration on Thursday, October 23 from 6-8 p.m in downtown Silver Spring. Join us for an evening of song, solidarity and creative connection, with uplifting remarks by Civic Nation CEO Kyle Lierman that will bring hope and insight in challenging times. We’re also honored to be giving our “Art of Service” award to Lisa Martin, who's greatly enriched our cultural and civic lives as executive director of the Silver Spring Town Center.
We’ll get to write a poem together with popular poet Malachi Byrd as our emcee, and hear live music from award-winning singer and songwriter Munit Mesfin. We’ll also enjoy delicious refreshments, civic arts activities for all, amazing finds at our silent auction, and the chance to mingle with some of our region’s most dynamic youth leaders, educators, artists and community advocates.
