TODAY, WE INVITE YOU to help up promote democracy and student success!
Day one of this challenge will focus on the first “step to democracy” in our program: Civility, respect and peaceful conflict resolution (Listen!).
This challenge is twofold.
- First, we invite you to support our program so we can continue helping students learn tolerance and civility through activities like listening games, conflict resolution scenarios, and teaching artist residencies that explore nonviolence, bullying prevention and peace.
- Second, we challenge you to weigh in on the seven civic skills we call “steps to democracy,” one for each day of this week. Today, we invite you to share a sentence or two, or your favorite poem, song, quotation or image, on the topic of respect, peace and civility (Listen!). Today's prompt is:
“What strategies help you bridge the divide when engaging with someone whose views differ sharply from your own?”
Please Reply on one of our social media channels, or by emailing info@theciviccircle.org. We will post your entries!
