The Power of Community Service

unnamed

ON DAY FOUR OF THE CIVIC CHALLENGE, we invite you to celebrate the power of community service and volunteering, the fourth “step to democracy” in our program (Join!).

One of the most consistent outcomes of Civic Circle pre-post surveys is that very high percentages of participants leave our program “more excited about service-learning and helping others.” This demonstrates both how helping others supports student well-being, and how service-learning opens the door to community and civic engagement.

Students in our civic arts workshops have knotted blankets for youth in foster care, written encouraging notes to seniors, created activity books for young cancer patients, and bagged groceries for food distributions, among other activities.

Today, we invite you to support our program so we can continue to advance the spirit of generosity in the next generation. We also invite you to answer today’s Civic Challenge prompt:

“Is community service essential, and should it be required in school?”

Please share your reply on our Civic Challenge campaign, or email info@theciviccircle.org. There are many ways to support our program:
